2004 was a fantastic year if you’re a fan of the Auburn Tigers football team. The team was led by Quarterback Jason Campbell and a host of talented players including Carnell Williams, Ronnie Brown and Carlos Rogers to name just a few. The team went 11-0 in the regular season and finished the year with a huge bowl win over Virginia Tech. That Tuberville Tiger team finished the season a controversial number 2 after being passed over for a chance to play in the National Championship game. But enough about that….
Today’s “Good News from the Plains” has to do with Jason Campbell who was drafted in 2005 in the first round to play for the Washington Redskins. He then went on to have a short stint with the Oakland Raiders before getting injured.
Campbell has now officially moved on from the Raiders to play back up to QB Jay Cutler. Campbell has been given a new chance to prove himself in the NFL where he has had a steady if not spectacular career up to this point.
Congratulations to Campbell and I know the Auburn Family will be tuning in whenever possible to see when and if the former Tiger star takes the field or perhaps wins the starting position outright. War Eagle!
