January is a time for reflection at what was an exciting time for the Auburn / Opelika area in 2013. So many great things happened last year! There was the amazing “team of destiny” football season enjoyed by Auburn Tiger fans. Numerous new businesses came to the area. We saw places such as the Avondale Bar and Tap Room, Acre and Mama Mocha’s Coffee at the Hound open their doors.
Opelika saw the continued growth of the Overall Company; a popular coffee house/concert venue which expanded to include its unique “Pop Factory” where homemade pops are made. The Gnu’s Room; a popular book store formerly located in Auburn got a new home in Opelika.
Forbes Magazine recognized Auburn as one of the Best Small Places for Business and Careers in 2013.
The housing market has seen a steady increase in the Auburn / Opelika area and we look forward to even more growth in 2014. Per the Alabama Center For Real Estate (ACRE) statistics Lee County residential sales were up 16% in December and up 4% for 2013.
2014 looks to be a huge year for the Auburn / Opelika area! More new businesses are on their way as the wonderful schools, terrific weather and growth opportunity greet those looking for a place to break ground.
